The Sanctuary

The sanctuary, as the place where the altar stands, where the word of God is proclaimed, and where the priest, the deacon, and the other ministers exercise their offices, is a place of special significance in a Catholic church. As such, everyone is reminded that children and adults should refrain from entering the sanctuary, even for photographs.

Private Prayer

You are most welcome to drop into the Cathedral for your own private prayers and devotions during the day.

The Cathedral is open for private prayer during the week from around 7.30am Mass until around 6pm. Some days this may be earlier.
Saturday around 8.30am to 5pm. And Sunday 7.30am to 3.30pm.
