Find out more about how you can support the cathedral parish below.
Thank you for choosing to support St Mirin’s Cathedral. There are many ways you can do this.
You can support the work of the parish spiritually by praying for the clergy and for the lay faithful in the parish.
Online Offertory Portal
During this time of pandemic, many individuals, families and businesses have been hit financially; the same is true of St Mirin’s cathedral parish.
To address this problem, an Online Offertory Portal has been set up by the diocese. Through this portal, the lay faithful are able to support their own parishes as well as other diocesan funds (Vocations, Sick and Retired Clergy, etc.).
Monsignor Joe and Father Ryan really appreciate the support that so many have continued to provide since we entered into lockdown in March.
You can support the work of the parish financially by making an on-line donation via the diocesan Online Offertory Portal. To donate to the parish, click here.
Standing Orders and Gift Aid
You can set up a Standing Order so that money will be donated to the cathedral parish every month.
Don’t forget that if you pay tax, you can Gift Aid every donation. This means that we receive a further 25p for every £1 you donate, at no extra cost to you.

Cathedral Boiler Fund
The boilers for the cathedral were condemned in November 2020, and a major leak in the pipework under the car park was discovered.
In December 2020, engineers were making final checks before work was to commence. At that point, we were advised that the original proposal was not the most practical solution to our problem.
The cost of work on the boilers and pipework is approximately £100,000. We must be sure that such an amount of money is being spent in the best and most prudent way. In practice, this meant a delay to the commencement of the works, which will now take place early in 2021 in order to find the most cost-efficient and enduring solution to our problem.
We appreciate your patience and apologise for the inconvenience.
We are so grateful for the donations that have been handed in so far for the Boiler Fund. God bless your generosity. Obviously, any extra donations will be greatly welcomed!
Leaving A Gift in Your Will
Once you have made sure that your loved ones will receive something after you go to your eternal reward, you might consider leaving a gift in your Will to St Mirin’s Cathedral parish.
Giving money to a charity in your Will is a great way to leave a positive legacy for the future.
